Syracuse, N.Y. -- It's been snowing for 38 straight hours in Syracuse, and there's more to come.
The National Weather Service station at Hancock International Airport has been recording snow since 3 a.m. Sunday, when rain switched over to light snow.
From then until 4 p.m. today, at least 18.9 inches of snow has fallen, and Syracuse could get another 4 inches.

And still coming down.
It started Saturday evening with rain and changed over during the night.
The first few inches melted pretty quickly.
We’re up to three feet in our location and it’s still coming down although the lake effect band is weakening.
Lots of school closings and delays. A state of emergency for Cayuga County.
And to think that Saturday I was in shorts and a t-shirt doing yard work getting ready for it.
Welcome to NY. If you don’t like the weather, wait a minute.
Mr. Gore, Mr. Albert Gore, please pick up the white courtesy phone for a message.
Globlal Warming!
When do we want it?
Now!
Three years in Liverpool was enough!! It might freeze tonight here in Arizona, but then again not. ;-)
“Over the river, and through the woods, to Grandfather’s house we go, the horse knows the way to carry the sleigh
through the white and drifted snow.
“Over the river, and through the wood, to Grandfather’s house away! We would not stop for doll or top, for ‘tis Thanksgiving Day.”
Yeah, a real old-fashioned Thanksgiving day. Snow and all, with roads impossible to navigate other than by sleigh.
All the great lakes surface waters are a lot warm than average.... going to be a great few weeks for lake effect snow :)

Sounds like a personal problem. ; )
Good beach day here in Daytona.
That much snow is annoying. If we’re going to waste so much money pretending that we control the climate, at least we could get a little global warming.
Years ago I,while in the Army Reserve, did a “summer camp” at what was then called Camp Drum which is near Watertown,NY.I got talking to a Lieutenant who was “Regular Army” and had spent the previous winter there. He told me that during that winter there were areas of the post where they didn’t bother to plow and he said that buildings in those areas were completely buried by snow by the end of the winter.
Heh. I want me some global warming. It’s not too bad currently up here in Edmonton, Alberta.
what one might expect for this time of year. Namely, cold and sh**ty.
Anybody know the whereabouts of Alogore?
LOL!
Yeah, I’ve got three feet of global warming on my property today.
We’ve shoveled four times just to keep up with it.
Only 20? We used to get 3 or 4 feet easy near Watertown. The plow filling up the end of your driveway just after you cleaned it was a beautiful thing.
Also your mailbox flying down the road. Good times
Yes, I knew that and knew that when we had out first lake effect snow event, it was going to be a doozy.
And the weather is supposed to moderate some for the next week so the lakes still will not be cooling as much as usual.
Lots of fun in store for us.
Heavy snow , too. Very heavy.
To a degree.
But when it’s snowing 3-5 inches an hour, it’s hard to see anything, much less beautiful cause you know what shoveling is going to be like.
I am happy for you...enjoy.
Yes, he is correct.
They don’t bother plowing. They just sand and drive on top of it.
And that area gets the absolute highest snowfall rates going. Five inches an hour is NOT unusual.
