Please, someone, anyone - cut Carl’s hair.
Can’t argue with that. I work with at-risk teenaged boys
at a private residential treatment facility. On
occasion I will pull aside a more mature 14 yr old
and show him a high school yearbook. Typically the
freshman boys photos will depict baby faces with longer
hair while the senior photos show young men with
neatly trimmed and well groomed hair. I ask my boys
which group in the yearbook they think attracts the
most girls. Sometimes they get the hint.
In the case of TWD the Carl aspect is peculiar in that
the magazine depicts Carl as a little kid. The story
line is condensed into a relatively short period
of time. In the TV version actor Chandler Riggs grows
and matures with every new program season. Unless they
change actors (the Carl character) every new season we
will continually view a Carl on TV that grows away from
the magazine version of the character. Maybe the
producers are doing about the only thing they can to
limit the growth of the Carl character. That is to
keep his hair ridiculously long. If so, they should
give it up. Notice the Judith character. Because there
is little exposure they can keep changing the ‘actor’
in order to slow her growth. Rather strange when you
think about it.
