Keith Ellison, an early favorite to become the next Democratic National Committee chairman, has hit his first roadblock. The Minnesota congressman and Bernie Sanders ally is facing growing resistance to the idea of electing another party chairman who is a sitting member of Congress.
On the heels of Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s troubled tenure as DNC chief, the issue of whether Ellison will commit full-time to the job poses a threat to his candidacy — even as he enjoys significant support in his bid to become DNC chairman.

Wasserman Schultz drew criticism in party circles for how she handled the two demanding roles, and Democrats privately grumbled that she sought to leverage her position as party chairman to give her congressional donors plum spots at DNC fundraisers with President Barack Obama and solicited DNC donors for contributions to her campaign.
“I think we all watched at DNC meetings a chair trying to do both, and both is a matter of the amount of time being taken but also, if you are a sitting officeholder, there's potentially some separation between your interests and the interests of the national party," said Ohio Democratic Party chairman David Pepper.
Already, two of Ellison’s opponents for the top DNC job — former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean and South Carolina Democratic Party chairman Jaime Harrison — have made the point that congressional responsibilities would dramatically undercut the ability of the next chairman to do the job effectively.

It is beyond that; the wealthy white libs that own the Dem Party have no use for a radical black Muslim. When they put the last one in in 2008, it was with the understanding that he would do their bidding - and he did. Eight years later, blacks were rioting in our cities because they realized that the white half of Obama had left them even further behind not just white Americans, but countless non-white immigrants as well.
Wealthy white liberals will never turn over real power to a black person they don’t own; they won’t even let most blacks get an education.
They ought to be more concerned about his ties to CAIR and the Muslim Brotherhood

In one corner we have a tapeworm and in the other corner we have a maggot. Perhaps they will both kill each other and some other less toxic leech will emerge from the muck.
The way these Dems keep saying “We need a Party Chair who is Full Time”, makes me think that is a dog whistle for saying
“We need a Party Chair who is NOT sympathetic to the Muslim Brotherhood or an acolyte of Louis Farrakhan.”
Maybe, some of them are waking up to this high risk venture.
I can see that at any objection to his views, Ellison will play either the Race Card or the “Moderate” Muslim Card.
Just perhaps they aren’t ready to jump into the perilous whirlpool of being an apologist for all things Muslim.
Muslim Ellison is PURFECT for the minority diversity obsessed new democrat party.

Ellison is the perfect guy for the job. I pray the Democrats pick him.

The Rats’ problem, though, is they’ve ethnically cleansed their base. The troops no longer think too much of their rich, white, racist, geriatric so-called leadership. They’ve created a monster that will consume them.
Thanks; Trump’s slightly improved numbers in getting black votes, and perhaps more telling, the number of blacks that sat out this election rather than deliver PA or Michigan to Hillary, indicates they are becoming aware of how badly they’ve been duped.
He’s the perfect fit for the job:
Congressional responsibilities = racist dog whistle. They're calling the black man lazy. I'm sure representative Ellison can handle his congressional duties, his cultural Marxist 5th columnist duties and his duty to jihad with ease.
