I bet it’s more about safety issues. I wouldn’t live in the place either after the current adminstration. I would just assume that the place was rigged with a bomb or staff that might turn on you. These are very different times unlike America has ever experienced. Trump may be trying to keep his family from seeing someone attempt to assassinate him and the above. Trump could send his son to any school but probably wants him to be among his friends which is a big deal to you when you’re young.
This is sad I want to see all of them in the White House.
Remember the mess made when the Clinton/Gore staff left their offices.
I would imagine it would be a lonely place for any chiild.

As others have posted, it’s difficult for a child to be moved around a lot.
My grandfather was a manager for Sears and he had to move to different locations often. Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, etc. My mother, an only child, never had any lasting friendships as a child and grew up to be a lonely person.
Barron has siblings, but not his age.
I think the Trumps are doing the right thing.
