Earlier this morning, reports indicated Trump’s transition team had selected an Attorney General, CIA Director, and National Security Advisor.

AG: Sen. Jeff Sessions CIA Director: Rep. Mike Pompeo National Security Advisor: Retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn

Politico confirms those individuals have accepted the cabinet posts:

Sen. Sessions: “I am humbled to have been asked by President-elect Trump to serve as Attorney General of the United States,” Sen. Jeff Sessions said in the statement. “My previous 15 years working in the Department of Justice were extraordinarily fulfilling. I love the Department, its people and its mission. I can think of no greater honor than to lead them. With the support of my Senate colleagues, I will give all my strength to advance the Department’s highest ideals. I enthusiastically embrace President-elect Trump’s vision for ‘one America,’ and his commitment to equal justice under law. I look forward to fulfilling my duties with an unwavering dedication to fairness and impartiality.”

Rep. Mike Pompeo “I am honored to have been given this opportunity to serve and to work alongside President-elect Donald J. Trump to keep America safe. I also look forward to working with America’s intelligence warriors, who do so much to protect Americans each and every day,” said Rep. Mike Pompeo (R-Kan.), Trump’s choice to lead the CIA.

Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn “I am deeply humbled and honored to accept the position as National Security Advisor to serve both our country and our nation’s next President, Donald J. Trump,” said retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn in the statement.

Sen. Sessions and Rep. Pompeo’s roles require Senate confirmation. Both appear to have requisite support.

President Trump thus far is over performing expectations. I have underestimated his intelligence and intellect forming a government within our system to the Founders specifications. He still has to be sworn in and actually lead and make serious decisions that will not make everybody happy, but for right now, I am amazed and personally proud to be a Conservative American. I hope we can stick a stake in liberalism and Islamic Jihad within President Trumps tenure. The bottom line is that law and order will be restored at home and abroad by professionals.

Ibrahim Hooper, a spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, said statements like Pompeo’s were detrimental to policies that keep all Americans safe.

“We believe it’s counterproductive to our nation’s safety and security because they will act based on their faulty perceptions of Muslims and Islam,” Hooper said, “and will not carry out policies based on accurate and balanced information.”

The fact that Ibrahim Hooper and CAIR do not see eye-to-eye with Mike Pompeo makes Pompeo that much better as the choice for CIA director.

On the flip side, the Republican Jewish Coalition just tweeted out congratulations to Rep. Pompeo, noting that he is known as a trusted friend of Israel and a staunch opponent of the current treaty with Iran.

BTW, Pompeo is known to be a Tea Party congressman, another plus!
