Indeed correct. Thanks.
Your work on Free Republic has been supreme, enlightening and comprehensive, and you deserve tremendous accolades indeed. I disagree with you about Gowdy however. It takes huge b@lls to do what he did—with almost no support from our own side in congress.
Fold? Nope, he couldn’t do much more than he did, and God knows what he did in the halls trying to get some wingmen... there were a couple others, but Gowdy was on point, taking the hits, even from us.
So many on this site violated a primary Reagan directive: Thou shalt not speak ill of fellow republicans... I mean of course honest discussions and discourse and disagreements must take place, even amongst our side... but some were just too far over the edge and did not add to the chances of the good guys winning. Thank God we won, but no thanks to some who did go over that edge. But the good guys won, and therefore i’ m not mad, just relieved I guess.
Thanks again for all you’ve done, you’re a FR treasure. Don’t know if you were here when Mia T was roaming the halls of FR, but she was a Clinton hater from way back. Hers got a little ‘out there’ sometimes, but she was also pretty amazing. Your posts are probably as numerous, but always well researched and well written—with plenty of humor too!
As to Gowdy, he has some great video of him being tough, and occasionally he backs that up when it counts, like when he grilled Comey. THAT was awesome and consequential. He was also instrumental in discovering Hillary's private email server. I'll just say this, I wish he would have been more like the Comey vanquisher when it counts, wish he would have had more accomplishments, but right now I'm going to give him a decent thumbs up. I'm just not ready to give him any kind of mega laurels since he could have done so much better considering his talents. He really booted the Benghazi investigation IMHO. Got very little bang for what should have been an explosive issue.
Let's see how he does in the next two years. I like him, but won't shower him with praise until he has a good deal more success in winning the war against leftist corruption. If he does well this next two years, I'll be effusive in my praise of him, just for now, he'll only get a thumbs up.
One of the good guys, hope to see him as one of the greats these next years.
Well said!
I think Trey Gowdy is a real Patriot and puts his heart into his job and position.
The fact that he doesn't get much support is, to me, evidence he's doin' somethin' REAL good (for us)
I LIKE him and I would LOVE to see him as AG WITH arrest and grand jury powers.
Don't forget, EVERY Republican has had to deal with Loretta Lynch

Thanks for the kudos......and remember I was a big fan of Trey....always made the effort to single him out for praise.
But the Hillary incident just threw me off the bandwagon.
I can forgive a politician of many things...but not knowing the consequences of his actions is not one of them.
Don’t know much about Klayman, but have always been a fan of Gowdy.
I know a lot of people think he didn’t get much done, but if you consider how seriously he was stonewalled by the Obama administration, I’m surprised he got anything done at all. his committee still doesn’t have thousands of documents they’ve been trying to get for years. His committee still managed to find out about Hillary’s server, and exposed he numerous lies about it, and I expect them to find out a lot more about her foundation as they go.
Also, Gowdy is acting as an investigator right now, not a prosecutor. Just as he was when he was a prosecutor, he’s been a bulldog, never stopped trying.
I’d like to see him as AG, but it’s looking like that’s not going to happen. Strangely enough, I think I read today that Cruz is being eyed as a prospect for that spot. As a prosecutor in S Carolina, Gowdy had an outstanding record, never lost a case from what I’ve heard. Cruz might do a good job, but I think Gowdy would be a much better choice. I would actually prefer Rudy Giuliani over either except for the fact that Rudy is getting a bit long in the tooth and seems to be losing his edge...
I’m not sure I agree with your statements about “FReepers”. There are a lot of FR’s here .. and all it takes is a few rambling about all over the sight making you think there are tons of people against someone.
If you just take the time to list the names of the posters, you might find that it’s just a very few. The reason is; we know to check the names and if we see that a half dozen people are making all the noise, we just ignore them.
I am a real fan of Trey Gowdy .. and we need him badly in Congress to hold their feet to the fire.
JW has exposed a lot of necessary things .. it’s needed more today than ever .. now that we have the media totally in bed with the BAD APPLES.
Appreciate the info, good to know.
I guess Cruz would be a good call... my pick would be Gowdy, but I’d be OK with Ted.
Klayman is Hapless, just like Trey Gowdy. It is Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch that deserves the kudos!!
They had dreams of him riding in on a white horse and shooting all the corrupt ones down and when that didn't happen they went mental (like the current Trump "protesters"/BLM and other pansy groups that demand all their wishes be granted or they'll throw a fit).
Being on FR doesn't make one smart or sane......good post.
for you all who appreciate the hard work Judicial Watch and Tom Fitton, etc., do..
go ahead and subscribe - it’s free
and I always watch Chaffee and Gowdy when they’re on... love it when they’re busting Lewis...
Good comments!
Indeed it’s Fitton at JW but I completely disagree with your comment about Gowdy. Thank God we had him to do everything he could to provide The Evil Queen with the resistance that clearly very few in Congress would join him at.
Hapless, my ass. Gowdy’s brilliant takedowns of Hillary over the past year, while they didn’t result in convictions, resonated with many previously inattentive Americans, and helped to drop that house on the Hildabeast.
The Third Reich of the Clinton Administration (Obama being the 2nd) was avoided, and Gowdy and JW were intimately instrumental in that.
Thanks.
The BEST thing Gowdy did, and it was FABULOUSLY GREAT, (I apologize because I forgot it) was when he asked short questions to Comey about Hilliary! However he didnlt lay a hand on her when she was in front of him.
