The Silent Pro-Life Majority (Abortion most googled word on election day)

Listening to the news commentaries over the last couple weeks and reading op-eds in our nation’s papers, one couldn’t have missed the discussion over the “silent Trump voters”, those who may be in huge numbers but who don’t want to tell pollsters they are supporting Trump. These silent Trump voters showed up big time last night, obliterating the electoral map.

You know who else comprised an enormous silent majority? Pro-life voters.

Yesterday, Election Day, the most-searched term according to Google Trends in much of the nation was “abortion.”

The A-word that wasn’t even mentioned in presidential debates until the very last one, where moderator Chris Wallace so brilliantly allowed the candidates to contrast themselves on this very important issue.

But looking at the rolling polls over the last year, abortion wasn’t at the top of voters’ concerns.

Maybe the hearts of Americans started to turn when they saw that the Democratic Party passed the most extreme abortion platform in modern history, which affirmed abortion for any reason at any point in the pregnancy, demanded taxpayers pay for abortion, and fully fund Planned Parenthood. The GOP platform was the complete opposite.

Maybe the turning point was when they heard the head of NARAL proudly talk about her abortion and was met with cheering at the Democratic convention.

Maybe Americans took a second look at abortion after they saw our #PinkFleet of vans outside Cecile Richards’ speeches across the country, which said “Planned Parenthood Betrays Women.”

Maybe it was when they saw in the last debate that Hillary Clinton supported all abortion – even late-term abortion – and was shocked enough at Donald Trump’s gruesome description of late-term abortion that they had to look it up for themselves….and found he was right.

That abortion made it to the top of the search list on Election Day – and then that the woman who is BFFs with Cecile Richards, president of the nation’s largest abortion vendor, lost when nearly all polling showed an imminent victory – is astounding and is hopeful.

This is a sound rejection of the culture of death, a sound rejection of Planned Parenthood and their abhorrent criminal enterprise, and even better, a path forward to uniting not only the pro-life movement but bringing in new Americans every day who want to make abortion unthinkable in this nation.
