I hope you weren’t anywhere near the area after he poured in the bleach. Clear ammonia and chlorine bleach together make chlorine gas, which can ruin your whole day.

The chlorine gas is heavier than air. it displaces the air in the ant mound

Yeah, I know, that’s why I mixed them. I also made sure I was NOT downwind and quickly moved away.

You pour the ammonia in first, since that doesn’t elicit as hostile a reaction from yellowjackets as pouring in the bleach first.
