Yes, you are missing that the dynamic has been turned on its head.
Beyond the RINOs not wanting to explain to constituents why they left the massive increases and penalties intact (which are necessary to keep the thing barely afloat), you make the big mistake of assuming that Democrats will be a monumental block. They answer to their constituents as well, and the power structure for the Democrats will also be turned on ts head. New blood in Democrat leadership will be looking to make their mark, but they won’t be as powerful as the old structure, and a Democrats in States that don’t like Obamacare will be able to exert independence.
The dynamic has entirely changed - that is what you are missing. Obamacare is gone.
I hope you are correct, I really do, but it is YOU who do not understand the monolithic nature of the modern Democratic species. It is not the party of your grandfather, or even your father. It will commit suicide for its agenda, and take as much collateral damage with it as possible.
