51 seats is all that is needed for majority. It used to require more, but the Dems decided to break thatpractice and go nuclear. I hope this 51 shoves everything they pushed right back down their throats. The American voter gave the other side everything: house, senate, and executive. I hope Trump uses it to nullify the last 10 years of democrat legislation.

I voted against 2 R's for the first time because both were vocal in lambasting and proclaiming their non support of Trump. The incumbant congress rino won and the weak challenger GOPe slub for governor did not.
I did not vote for Mark Kirk, nor did I vote for Tammy Duckworth, who won. Better to have a Democrat than a sham Republican who votes with Democrats every time it matters.
Got a problem with that? Tough.
I’ve been looking for the final counts around the country and they seem to be frozen at last night levels. Are there still states that haven’t been called? Did AZ get called? What was the final count for Trump? Do we have union vote counters that just decided to stop counting at 93% and go home? Are some counties filling out ballots as we speak before finishing the count? Maybe we need illegals counting doing the jobs Americans won’t do.

The losses in the House and Senate are relatively small and are particular to each campaign. There is little in the way of broader lessons.
Manchin is considering switching parties
In NV the Senate campaign was dirty. Outside groups not endorsed (publicly) by either candidate were hosting nasty ads for months. As a result, if you look at the numbers 40+ thousand people did not vote at all in that race. The Democrat won by a narrow margin. And supposedly she is the first Latina or some crap. Either way we don’t get the seat. NV in general turned blue largely because pot was on the ballot and all the stoners voted.
It was a terrible year in terms of the 1/3 of the Senate elected in the Tea Party wave of 2010. Republicans were defending 24 seats to the Democrat's 9.
2018 should be much better, when the class of 2012 Senators come up for reelection. In 2018, the Democrats are defending 25 (23D + 2 communist) seats and the GOP only 8.
I would agree the GOP lost seats. They’d have lost many, many more with another candidate.
Kelly Ayotte should simply pledge her life, her chattle, and her modesty to Trump. She’s still got a job even though she shivved him on Fox News, an item used by the DNC in ads in that state.
