or Patricia Pautke, going to Walmart is a fairly normal thing to do, but one trip quickly turned embarrassing.
According to KOB, Pautke went into the store to browse the Halloween merchandise with her son. On her way out, an employee stopped her in the middle of the entrance.
He said, Maam are you pregnant?, and I said Yes I am, and he said, You did not look pregnant five minutes ago, said Pautke. He said, Im going to need you to lift up your shirt right now and prove to me that you dont have anything under your shirt.
After pulling up her shirt and proving she was indeed pregnant, the employee told her to have a good day and let her leave.
I couldnt believe this happened to me, she told the news station. Ive never heard of this happening before and how humiliated and embarrassed I was that they didnt even take me into a room.
Pautke eventually filed a police report. A Walmart spokesperson said they are looking into the situation and issued an apology.
Unless he observed suspicious behavior he had no call to make her prove her pregnancy.
It’s always a baby . . . until it isn’t!
DANG!
Agreed. I was just making an observation about fake pregnancy suits.
Wait until the burqa b!tches arrive. I bet they won’t be checked. EVER!
Walmart is in trouble on this one Boogieman.
They might be, but nobody forced a woman to pull up her skirt, like the poster I was responding to asserted.
I love, love, love that movie. Every scene is genius.
Animal House is a classic. It will be remembered for decades like comedy classics from other eras.
It almost didn't get made. The studio didn't "get it", and it went through a lot of rewrites. Donald Sutherland was signed as a "big name" star, to make the studio happy.
They finally realized they had something out of the ordinary when the movie was previewed weeks before the release. The audience went nuts over it.
If you have a chance, rent/buy the 25th anniversary DVD and turn on the commentary. It's not a voiceover -- it's popup captions at the bottom explaining something about the scene, the actor, etc. Some of them are hilarious.
Bwahahaa!
Have not been in Walmart for probably ten years but my coffee pot quit working this afternoon and around our house that is a real crisis. Can’t/don’t shop at Target any more, BB&Beyond only has fancy ones and I just wanted a cheap Mr. Coffee so it was off to the wonderful world of Wally.
Guy in front of me in the check out lane, which was labeled in huge letters “FAST CHECKOUT” was a Black man, probably 75 or 80. When it was his turn he said in a loud, booming voice “If this is your fast checkout, I would hate to see what you call slow”. Everyone around us laughed, except for the employee who had a really puzzled look on her face. Maybe her supervisor will explain it to her later.
It depends on her state of mind—which she felt compelled to do. She has a case against Walmart.
After my last coffee maker died I went strictly pour over. As long as I have coffee grounds and a heat source to boil water, I’ve got coffee (I have reusable linen filters).
I discovered it’s better than a electric coffee maker. Apparently our masters in government have regulated the temp in those for “safety” and the taste suffers.
Good idea. My kids gave me their old pot because I bought them a Kuerig last year for Christmas. Was a great pot but had an auto shut off which activated as soon as the coffee was brewed so ended up heating it in the microwave.
I’m partial to Mr. Coffee units and my new one which has no whistles and bells was on sale at Wallyworld for $7.99. Maybe after Trump is elected we’ll start making them in the U.S. again instead of in China. I’d be willing to pay a lot more just to have the box say “Made in the USA” again.
“It depends on her state of mindwhich she felt compelled to do.”
I don’t think so. That works for claims of self defense and such, but does that really come into play when you are claiming someone assaulted you? “I felt assaulted” is not really an argument that holds up in court, I think.
When you want to accuse someone of a crime, it needs to be proven with evidence, and the state of mind of the victim is not evidence.
“She has a case against Walmart.”
Well, anyone can sue anyone else for any reason, so technically that’s true. However, it still remains that she wasn’t forced to lift her skirt, as the poster I replied to was claiming.
Thank you! I don’t buy dad’s, but I would/probably buy this. I also have read they wanted Chevy Chase for the Tim Mathison role. That would have ruined it in my opinion. You are correct it is absolutely a classic for the ages ; )
Sorry, I missed your post, but see someone answered.
