When hiking in the woods, I warn any gullible looking kids too watch out for the vampire squirrels.

I’ll bet somebody there has been feeding those squirrels regularly. I worked with people who had regularly fed the squirrels, and got them to climb up their leg and take a peanut out of their pocket. Could be the squirrels were looking for their regular snack, and got a little crazy when it wasn’t forthcoming.

They go after old people.
They’re attracted to the bright flashes from walkers.
They need to put mud on themselves and their walkers.

Rub mud all over yourself and then wait in ambush for that evil squirrel.
Then you whack them with your cane.
Cane-Whacked Squirrel is a delicacy in some parts of this country.
Watch out for their buddies the possums.
A possum is like a ninja.

I nursed a baby squirrel to adulthood and he was the most loving animal I ever owned but fiercely loyal - attacked anyone else that wasn’t me
