Saw them in a little club in Lubbock, TX around 1987.

After the second song, people started chanting “I Ran” “I Ran” “I Ran”.

The lead singer was like... “guys... we’ll play it. We have an hour and a half set. We had OTHER hits, you know”.

Poor guys. Truly not a one-hit-wonder, but no one knows that.

Nothing worse than hearing a band say, “But now, here’s something from our new album.”

That’s when folks decides it’s a good time for a bathroom break.

I remember once that I saw I think Journey in Dallas around 1979. The warm-up band was called Sweet and their one-hit wonder was called “Love is Like Oxygen.” They keep playing all of their other material and people were booing and yelling “play Love is Like Oxygen.” Finally, they played it as their last tune and the lead singer went on a long cussing tirade and smashed his guitar and left. Everyone began to cheer.

What about "Ballroom Blitz."

Yeah, they must have played it but I don’t remember. I guess that song had been around and it wasn’t their latest chart topper that everyone wanted to hear. Another funny story - we were at the Texas Jam in the Cotton Bowl and Loverboy was playing. We were right up by the stage. The lead guitarist was wearing a pair of tight spandex pants and the seam had ripped and his *&^%$ were hanging out. We keep pointing at him and yelling “Hey, your *&^%$ are hanging out!” and he just pointed back as if to say “Yeah man, rock on!” This went on for several minutes and everyone was dying laughing. They went back for a brief intermission and when he came back on, he had shoved some sort of white cloth in there to keep his *&^% from showing and his face was all red. I often wonder if I ever ran into him, I could ask him about the experience. It was so funny.

Excellent song from the 80’s on MTV. Here is another good song from AFOS:

It’s so very subtle...but...this video sort of has an ‘80s feel to it.

Or am I just imagining that?

Love is Like Oxygen is arguably Sweet’s best song!

Oh no, their best is “Fox On The Run.”

The best YouTube I could find involves minimally attired runway models, so if you’re offended by that, don’t click.

That’s a great one, too. Unfortunately for me, I had a friend who wore it out back in the day and it’s so seared into my memory that I don’t ever need to hear it again. Sort of like “Free Bird” or “Stairway To Heaven,” lol.
