Besides the fact that all these organizations claim no collusion, no bias and state “they’re offended” at the suggestion of doing such?
How many times I’ve heard the same wording from multiple organizations, within hours, only to hear that they are all “independent” and have no such ties? They’re “honest journalists” don’t you know? It goes against their supposed “ethics”.
OF COURSE IT WOULD BE NAIVE to believe they’re not. The point is that they deny it all the time. And yes, I believe there are laws about SPAC’s and campaigns being uncoordinated - although I’ll let FR lawyers clarify.
Yeah. It makes you wonder why they even bother making a pretense of independence. They don’t have to, do they? They could publicly say, “Yes, we are joined together. Maybe we word things the same sometimes, maybe we don’t. Maybe we coordinate here and there, maybe we don’t. What are you going to do about it? Sue me!”
Or does that “flavor” of independence somehow make their message more potent or palatable. By “flavor” I mean remaining silent as to where the connections are.
A free press should allow for this collusion, and a *better* press can, and does, show these fools for who they are. Big league. Wikileaks, Breitbart, and more are coming forth. It is a sight to behold.
There *is* a huge problem, however, if government entities are favoring one or the other through tax law, bribes and the like. That’s where the IRS of late is, and ought to be, subject to major legal prosecution. No one has a vested interest in bigger government than the government itself.
Remember “gravitas”? It was all the rage.
