A massive plume of smoke is filling the skyline after a gas pipeline exploded in Helena, Alabama according to CBS42. Fire units are headed to the scene, according to McAdory Fire Station #2. Alagasco has stated that the fire is from a petroleum line. According to the Shelby County Sheriff's office, the blast was on the Colonial Line, with 8-9 people injured. The Sheriff adds that the blast happened during crew work.

I saw the headline and thought “baloney, they didn’t use natural gas back in the colonial days”.
Just topped of my tank and husband who was 60 miles to empty.
Think we beat the rush this time. Madison County. aka Rocket City USA. We were hit pretty hard here last time with many stations running out those first day/two or three.

The Colonial Pipeline system is currently operating at normal capacity. Between late October and mid – November, Colonial will be performing system integrity work to remove the temporary bypass in Alabama and restore Line 1 to service.
My brother was an engineer who designed large generating turbines, and he knew a lot about the utilities industry. He was always describing mind-boggling incompetence and stupidity at all levels.
Just called my wife and told her to fill up. We had stations out for over a week in rural GA.

Amen! Prayers for them and their families. The pipeline is only 20 or so min from our home in Georgia.

I hate hearing things like this, as they are currently tunneling under a high pressure gas pipeline in my yard to run a 36 inch water line down my street.
