Nowhere TV is great, but it isn’t new. It’s been on Roku for years.

Anyone else have any quirky channel recommendations for Roku?

I basically only use it for Netflix or MLB.TV (Go Tribe) even though I have Amazon Prime I rarely use it. I also use the Plex Server app. One time I even watched a Trump Rally on the YouTube channel but mostly it’s underutilized I suppose. Even ESPN3 is rare since I watch Buckeye football first, and typical top 25 games 2nd. Rarely do I find myself dropping to the ESPN3 games. (Whatever that is called these days)

Yep. I use Nowhere TV on my Roku mainly to get Classic Arts Showcase, which I lost when I switched from DISH to DirecTV.

That’s OK, I’m just glad you mentioned that channel since I don’t think many people know about it. It’s a terrific repository of all sorts of hard to find programming. I love Roku. You can almost always find what you’re looking for somewhere on it.

I don’t have Roku yet, but we’re edging closer. Daughter has a membership, and we’ve latched onto hers occasionally.

X TV has some terrific movie channels, drama, horror, docs, And though it is not as easy to view as those channels in the ROKU store, it is certainly worth the effort.

We love our ROKU, too. It is right at the top, and nothing comes as close as this when remembering how life was once filled with the choice of viewing found on Big Dish Satellite before the influence of ....blankety blank government destroyed it. They will do to NFL what they did to BDS, and then move on rubbing their hands searching for their next project.

So many ‘folks’ are disheartened by the quality and cost of cable (when they can get it). ROKU is a GODsend.

We get a lot of local news from the States on Livestream, through Roku. Whenever something has been happening around the country we’ve been able to follow on a local station; and my husband always knows the weather in his home town ;-)

I can’t recommend any. We’ve the lower cost version and the more expensive have features I’m not familiar with. (Sorry for the botched sentence)

IIRC ours was in the range of $40 And though it is not ‘perfect’ especially when attempting to enter text, it does the job it is required to do.

Roku doesn't actually require any "membership." You simply buy the device and link it with your TV via your WiFi, and you have access to many hundreds of channels that you can install. Some of those channels do require membership in order to watch content, like Netflix and Amazon Prime. If you are already a cable TV subscriber to ESPN, you can also access its many live sporting events.

We have had a Roku for a little over 3 years now and are very pleased with it. Several months ago we bought our first "smart" TV that came Roku enabled, and didn't even have to get a separate device (the Roku remote came with it).

Is Roku through a TV or computer. Never heard it before now but I am very interested but I only have a old laptop. So, if you have the time, please explain how it works and is it inexpensive?
