And ALSO, a LOT of that 28 percent are in states that we aren’t counting on, like NY and CA.

Libertarians aren’t getting 14% of the vote.The total is amongst Independents, not the general electorate.
i have doubts about Johnson pulling 14% from Libertarians, let alone the rest of the independents. i speak as somebody who has been a registered Libertarian for 30 years.
You can bet that the rank and file of the Libertarian Party are going to be having a "discussion" with the leadership of the party. While Johnson is a forgivable mistake ~the Gary Johnson of 2012 is NOT the Gary Johnson of 2016~ Weld is simply unforgivable. We just may have a little "Come to Jesus meeting" with the Koch brothers too. The message in that meeting will be words to the effect of "Thy silver perish with thee".
The Libertarian Party does NOT violate principle for the sake of popularity and anybody who would does not belong in the party.
