We really don't have much of a country left.

When the Founding Fathers gave us the Bill of Rights, the very first amendment was concerned with freedom of religion and freedom of the press. Verbatim below:

Amendment I. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Note that freedom of the press was addressed first in the Bill of Rights. This was very important to the Founding Fathers.

The Founding Fathers envisioned that a free press would ensure a very crucial check and balance against the power of the government. It worked out pretty well for the first couple hundred years. But now the press is increasingly no longer free, but instead the stooges of the establishment.

It should go without mentioning that the rest of the First Amendment is quickly going by the wayside as well.

I’m wondering if America’s future is gonna’ be some states joining together and seceding from the Union. Easier to monitor corruption if the terrain is smaller. And it would fix the injustices connected with the Electoral College. The electoral votes provide an opportunity for pay for play.
