I haven't watched baseball since Curt Flood. I am watching tonight. I was a diehard Dodgers fan when they Drysdale and Koufax. Are they not using wood bats anymore ? The bats have strange color and make a different sound than what I used to hear. When did they start wearing their pants that droop over their shoes?

Professional baseball only uses wooden bats. Used to be almost always ash, but maple is also used.

They don’t actually play the game on the field like in the old days. Nowadays it’s all done with computer simulations. The players you see on your screen may appear to be real, but they are merely animated CGI creations.

It seems that Latin American players tend to be more likely to wear shorter pants that expose their stockings.

Also a lot of players have switched to maple. Ash is still the predominate wood type

By the way, welcome back. Baseball still remains the greatest game ever devised. At least in my opinion. It is better than the owners that own it, and the players that play it. Cubs are looking to end a very long, very notorious streak. Incidentally, so are the Indians.

They are wood bats but Fox always adds an annoying enhanced “tink” sound whenever ball meets bat to their broadcasts
