Good question. More to the point: Who pays for the travel expenses to and from the regular polling place on this "election holiday" for individuals who are working long-term assignments hundreds/thousands of miles from home?

Not everybody lives and works in the same place (as if that actually needs to be said.)

Give them a choice to take off MLK day or election day. But not both.
