I love seeing children at a wedding. Had children at my wedding. However, every bride has a right to the wedding she envisions. If that means no children, then so be it.
Does that mean that every groom, potential guest, vendor, etc., has a duty to make the Princess Bride's vision a reality, regardless of every other consideration?
Honestly, I think it's possible to agree that a couple may invite those whom they choose - adults only, if that's their wish - without positing an absolutely absurd "right" to Dream Wedding Perfection.
At my kid’s wedding they purposely chose an outside venue for the wedding and reception so children could come. Even had a table set up with crafts to keep the kid’s occupied at the reception and the boys seemed to bond together to play sports away from the tents.. Out of 200 guests I’d estimate there were 30 kids under 12. And once the dancing started, you know where the children were.
The children that came were all an integral part of the bride and groom’s lives, so how could they not invite them, with their parents. Each bride can do what they choose, but the choice to allow children is very doable. Now, years later, I still have folks mention to me how the wedding/reception was incredible and one of the most memorable they’d been to, a lot of that had to do with the inclusion of everyone.
We had children at the ceremony if people wished. The reception was a sit down dinner. We limited the number of people due to financial considerations No big deal
Kids are cute at weddings, especially when they’re dancing. My niece did not invite children to her wedding, and it wasn’t because she doesn’t like children, it was because the venue just wasn’t suitable, and between her and her fiance families, they have so many children they would have had to change the venue, the menu, and it would have turned into a kids party instead of a wedding. Some of my family members were outraged at first, but they got over it, found babysitters, and had a good time.
If she hates children what is she getting married for?
My nieces and nephew were part of my wedding. I had other kids at my wedding. I gave the kids coloring books and colors during the reception.
I loved having kids at my wedding! I think weddings are for the entire family.
