Here are some liqueur suggestions for anyone who cares (cocktails in parentheses):
-Cointreau (Sidecar)
-Gran Gala (Margarita)
-Kahlua (White Russian)
-Maraschino (Martinez)
-Crème de Cacao (Brandy Alexander)

And they are pretty simple to make. Such as Limoncello...
Grate the rind from four or five lemons. Add to a half liter of cheap vodka & allow to steep for up to a month, giving the bottle a light shake each day. When finished steeping, strain out the rind. Add 2 cups simply syrup (2 cups sugar to one cup water). A nice lemony liqueur all by itself or added to other drinks.
