Dunno. Despite my Fearless Predictions, the Dodgers could take this thing against the Cubbies, and the World Series against the Tribe. How? What I call their Dynamic Duo: Kershaw and Hill.
Kershaw, who you hear lots about, had a season ERA of 1.69, generally a lights-out ERA.
Hill, who you hardly ever hear about, had a season ERA of 1.83, also generally a lights-out ERA.
BOTH shut out the Cubbies in games two and three. They are up again for game six and seven. If the Cubbies can’t get around these two, they are toast and the Dodgers go to the WS.
In the WS, most likely, these two will also show up twice. That’s four games. If Cleveland, who is not as good a hitting team as the Cubbies, can’t get around these guys, Dodgers win the WS.
As always I stick to my unassailable Fearless Predictions, but even the unassailable can be wrong once in a great while. :)
The next two games should be very interesting.
Too much weight put on poor Kershaw. The Doyers needed to score some runs. Actually the Dodgers went a lot farther than I expected them to go considering the number of injuries they had this year.
Glad to see Angel alum Joe Madden working his magic and taking the Cubbies to the WS. The Cubs can send a few boxes of old ‘Wait ‘Til Next Year’ paraphernalia to their pals the Dodgers....
Only one game - the Cubs won the NL pennant tonight by shutting out the Dodgers.
No one’s stopping Chicago this year; they’re the winningest team in baseball - and with good reason.
Don’t know. Both teams, the Indians and the Cubbies, have the ‘IT’ look winning their LCS, and both teams are somewhat similar.
I saw some factoid that the first team to reach WS loses 70% of the time, but regular season best record team has even less chance of winning WS.
So I really don’t know about this one.
I never look at won-lost record. I use runs scored to rate teams.
In hitting and offense, the Cubbies were the third best scoring team in MLB whereas the Tribe was the fifth best, so they’re pretty close offensively with the Cubbies having a slight edge.
However, in pitching and defense the Cubbies were first in MLB in fewest runs scored against them whereas the Tribe was seventh, the Cubbies with a fairly large advantage.
The Cubbies should win.

KC Royals in 2017!
So far, my Fearless Predictions for the 2016 MLB playoffs is 75% correct. Not bad, nest-ce pas?
So the Cubbies haven’t won in 108 years, since 1908. The Tribe hasn’t won in 68 years, since 1948. Zamboni! Haven’t seen one of these matchup for while and we all know both teams are HUNGRY.

Looking for a fun series. The Cubbies were the stronger team in the regular season and should win.
If the Cubbies win, Ill be looking for Marty McFlys Back-To-The-Future DeLoren to land somewhere.
But Chicago did win a WS in 2005. Funny how everybody seems to have forgotten that.
Lots to look forward to, and it all begins tonight!
Is that the Back to the Future version? If so and the Cubbies win, they will have been off by only 11 years.
The White Sox version. You DO know Chicago has two baseball teams, right?
OK you got me.
I’ve read several articles that have said that the City of Chicago hasn’t celebrated a World Series win since 1908.
Lying media again - or just sloppy reporting. Almost certainly by females who generally don’t know what they’re talking about when it comes to sports.
Go KC Chiefs!
ESPN snubs White Sox in Cubs’ World Series coverage

Frankly, I don’t understand how any White Sox fan could root for the Cubs to win the Series.
In the last 30 years or so there have been about 30 teams with 100 win seasons. Only three went on to win the World Series, and none of those series featured one 100 win team playing another 100 win team. Regular season doesn't count for a whole lot.
