Yep seems a strange story. She knew she was in labor but needed to make sure she went to Walmart, as opposed to asking her husband to get things they need. Very odd.

“Born on a mountain-top in Tennessee”
has become
“Born at a WalMart in the check-out lane.”

Payson Utah County Utah.
Yeah not exactly the wisest thing to do. But hey, at least she avoided the hospital and doctor's bills, or we did.
To: Gamecock
How about to go to the hospital first and let hubby go to Walmart... ;-)

She awoke @ 2 A.M. but the baby was delivered @ 5:30 A.M. She either lives a long way from the Walmart or her few things were many things.

Well, Wally, Wallace or Waldo are good starts. The middle name really ought to be Martin.

Pictures of the birth no doubt will appear on the “Walmartians” site by this afternoon.

OMG that was my first thought, as well (lower hospital bills for us to be stuck with). We must be deplorable!

I took me ex to a belated birthday dinner at Red Lobster. She was at nine months, and due in 3 days. Anyway, we decided to celebrate, and she really loaded up on her food order.
As we started to eat, THEN she went into labor. I asked if she wanted to go to the hospital. She said, “Hell no, Imma gonna finish my dinner!”
At that point, her contractions were about 5, then 4, then 3 minutes apart. She’d spear a piece of lobster with her tiny lobster fork, grimace as a contraction passed, and then go on eating. By the time I paid the check, she was at two minutes. Drove to the hospital, and hour later my Son was born.

Free stuff from Wal*Mart is similar to what I was thinking, too.
They will be guilted into providing a generous baby shower of sorts.

Gee I wonder why we thought that way. Let me dwell upon that for awhile and I’ll get back to you. 8>)

Nesting behavior meets modern consumerism. Not the first or last baby to be born in Walmart.
