The silence of the article on the real reason for the drop in ratings is deafening.

The Dixie Chicks could have told them the likely outcome.

Spitting in the faces of your viewers tends to cause them to turn your stupid show off.

That’s a real surprise to the brains in NYC. Who voted in de Blasio.

Now I rarely watch sports on my Big-Screen TV. I watch games on my laptop, especially the Sunday and Monday night games. And usually, I’ll just have the sound on and click on the game when something interesting happens.

Disrespect the nation you are supposed to be the National Football League of and suffer the consequences.

The National Felons League can die for all I care.

Surprised?

Pretty basic economics at work. Spit in the faces of your consumers and they’ll stop buying your product.

Kapernick is like Obama. They are both angry at their black fathers for abandoning them. Their fathers chose to not marry their floozie moms. Blame the whites-even when they raise them.

They shouldn’t be surprised that football fans are patriotic for goodness sake.

The silence of the article on the real reason for the drop in ratings is deafening.

Amazing, isn't it. What's the line from Simon and Garfunkel? "A man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest."

Almost every article I have read about the ratings decline has focused on every other possible cause. If the anthem protests are even mentioned they are usually dismissed as a reason.

I listened to local sports talk, and one host was going on and on about how guilt over the concussion issue is causing viewers to stop watching.

Sports media is decidedly leftist, so they will not assign blame to the Kapernicks in the league because they are fellow travelers.

For the first time since 1947, the national teams of the United States and Cuba will play an international friendly. The historic meeting in Havana will take place Oct. 7 at Estadio Pedro Marrero. The match will be broadcast live on the ESPN and Univision Networks,

USMNT friendly vs. Cuba expected to be played as scheduled despite Hurricane Matthew

If anti-American protests continue, the only viewers NFL will have by mid-season will be degenerate gamblers.

And yet, the model of success is/and always has been focus on the game, make it less gay, and promote patriotism...problem solved.

It is the biggest no brainer.

But, some people believe you when you tell them not to pee on the electric fence, others need to figure it for themselves.

Walt Disney Co.’s ESPN has experienced the biggest drop, down 17% to average 11.3 million viewers. Excluding the game up against the debate, ESPN is off 11%.

ESPN is the Huffington Post of the sports world. They and Disney deserve to go bankrupt

Kapernick is like Obama.

I am probably reaching here, but I think the NFL ratings decline could be the election in microcosm.

The NFL, like the government/media/political class, is a powerful entity that is increasingly out of touch with the people who give it power. There is no Trump figure in the NFL scenario, but the silent majority reaction to leftist posturing may be just a precursor to the monster vote in November.

Let's hope.
