The very fact we're see it in during NFL games has turned off a LOT of fans on TV, and as such if the TV ratings slide continues the broadcast partners will be forced to invoke "make good" policies on advertising, which will really hammer the profits of the NFL's broadcast partners.
The only real shock there is how many people lied on the poll. Ratings aren’t down that hard. Fox’s Sunday ratings are the same, CBS Sunday down a touch, CBS Thursday is down but NFL Network of the same games is up. It’s SNF and MNF that are down the most, but not 1/3.
And the owners/advertisers are hoping it will “blow over.”
Don’t let it blow over. Stick by your guns.
you would think that whatever they do has be be covered in their contracts with the players ... like “morality clauses”. IOW, they may be restrained by a lack of including it in the contract.
I loved to play football when I was a kid. Watching a bunch of overpaid spoiled men play isn’t my thing.
I’m one of them. Haven’t watched a second of NFL football this year.
Truth. BRATS.
