Texas isnt firing Charlie Strong, but it certainly isnt doing him any favors, according to a report that indicates he is very close to losing his job at the end of the season after consecutive losses to Cal and Oklahoma State.
A high-ranking official described Strongs status to SIs Pete Thamel, adding that his job is safe until the end of the season. Strong is in his third season as coach of the 2-2 Longhorns, who wrap up their schedule Nov. 25.

Texass must be confident Tom Herman will take the job
Maybe Les Myles is waiting in the wings.
That’s obviously racist. You know they would have give a white dude more than 3 years to re-build a bottom of the barrel program.
But Les Miles is available and Kirby Smart might be.
Let’s see how the race angle is played on this one. The Texas job is too big for Charlie Strong. They were atrocious against Cal and even worse against Oklahoma St. Sorry Longhorn fans, but this Saturday’s traditional game against Oklahoma will be an ugly one too.
Purdue’s Darrel Hazell will likely get axed this month, before the end of the season.
Right now Kirby is over his head at UGA. Les it too old.
I think UT is going to going top write a couple big checks to pay off Houston and then pay Herman some major $$.
Texass..
Was that extra “s” on purpose or a Freudian slip?
Hopefully our new AD will do the same with McElwain.
My guess is that it was Freudian on purpose...:^)
Here’s a name for the Texas job I heard floated out there: John “Chucky” Gruden.
Gruden is like ESPN’s highest-paid employee, no way he gives up that gif.
Texas has historically been slow to make changes in its athletic programs on matters of race. Having said that, they cannot tolerate being a loser and Charlie’s head will roll, no matter his race.
Then I realized it is about sports...
If he deserves to be fired, why wait?
It takes no act of racial bravery to hire the black man. It only requires racial bravery to fire him.
I think Les is in the early stages of dementia. There’s something off with him.
When it comes to u of texass, it is intentional
Do what? Fire him?
