If this guy really cared about his family, especially his mother as he claims, he wouldn't be involved in activities that cause warrants to be issued. No mention of what the warrant(s) were for, but "petty" is what most criminals would consider any criminal warrant against them. Had he turned himself in when he knew there was a warrant for him, instead of ducking out of sight, he might not have been in the predicament he was in when stopped. And, it's very stupid to speed, no matter what the circumstances, especially in light of the fact that this guy knew he was a hot potato. Well, as we always said, they're not in jail or prison because they're smart.

I have no sympathy for criminals. Spent 25 years putting up with their whining in NY's prison system. Back when they didn't have easy access to make phone calls, they were allowed two calls a month. The calls were dialed by an officer. The cons would claim they loved their mothers, wives, girlfriends, etc. so much that they had to call them. I'd tell them if they'd cared so much about their loved ones, they'd have done everything possible to stay out of trouble to begin with. BS artists every one of them.

HE WASN’T DRIVING. Your reading comprehension needs to be addressed. He didn’t have warrants. He is not required to ask his driver if he has warrants either.
