Of course they were scripted and rehearsed.
She got the questions in advance.

Yes, but it’s called preparation. She was prepared for the questions in standard politician-speak, Trump was his usual self...no surprises. She didn’t cough or pass out and he didn’t come unglued and successfully countered (though I agree he had a few slow pitches he could have nailed and didn’t) and seemed measured for the most part. A draw at worse, a win for Trump because he didn’t call her crooked Hillary (though I must admit I wouldn’t have minded it). He did what he had to do. Think of it from the perspective that there may have been up to 100 million people watching, many of which this would have been their first actual view of Trump relative to the evil stories they’ve been hearing from the media over the past year.

Hillary was well prepared, came across as informed, comfortable in a debate setting. But she ruined it for herself with that inappropriate grin. Trump seemed more passionate and moreknowledgeable about the seriousness of our problems. That’s why he will win.

Trump is a businessman.
Hillary is a lawyer/politician with 40 years+ of experience speaking/debating/b.s.ing.
She came across like a slick politician.
If people want more of that, she’s the vote for status quo.

Trump needed only to expose about a half-dozen of her 3 dozen incidents of lies, corruption, and incompetence.
Billyy Dale
Benghazi video
Watergate lying
Haiti
FBI files
Rose Law Firm files missing
Just a few! Discredit discredit discredit
Then talk policy
To: JBW1949
Yep & she kept looking down at what? A script? notes?
She also looked like she was nodding off towards the end.

Oh please. Only those who were not glued to reality believed such, and unfortunately, that encompasses many here at FR who had such ludicrous expectations.
Mr. Trump held his own, did not cough up any major gaffe, nor did he provide her heinous with any useful soundbites.
She needed a knockout to reverse her negative slide, and she did not obtain her necessary objective.
I doubt many, if any, minds were “changed” due to this encounter, and in fact, if anything, Mr. Trump did not come off as “unhinged” or “maniacal”, which will help some decide he’s not a detrimental choice as he’s been portrayed.
Advantage to Mr. Trump, In My Biased Opinion.

I think Trump used the debate as a “feeling out” process to gauge how Hillary, the debate moderator and even the MSM would react to every word he says in a fashion Sun Tzu would approve of. He’s not trying to destroy Hillary immediately (which would have made her a sympathetic figure), but will use this experience to subtly take her down in the second and third debates.

You're right but still there were a lot of missed opportunities; when Holt and Hillary accused Trump of supporting the Iraq war, which is patently false, why didn't he snap back that Clinton voted for the war.
It was quite tedious to sit through her barrage of lies with virtually no hitbacks
To: reasonisfaith
Yes, Trump will continue to go up and Hitlery will continue to stagnate and drop.

There were SO many opportunites that Clinton gave him that he could have nailed her on..when she brought up the guy that he supposedly didnt pay..he could have said “Speaking of not paying, the people of Haiti are still waiting for the BILLIONS of dollars YOUR Foundation promised them to help them recover from the earthquake..you can’t show your face in Haiti because they hate your guts” And seriously, I could care less if Trump supported the Iraq war, why, did he vote for it in Congress or the Senate..he’s a regular person, its like asking ME if I supported it, who cares, I dont care if he did I dont care if he didnt..the point is we were there and we should have ended it the right way, did we..of course NOT, we left and ISIS was created, thanks to Clinton and Obama
