As we wind down the summer of 2016 - here is a "lost" summer hit from 1980 - when Ronald Reagan was ascending to the presidency and the stench of Jimmy Carter was about to be left behind.
Rather excellent guitar solo in that song.
Like this song.
The granny in the red convertible @ 4:51 is absolutely terrifying!
Thanks for that trip back!
I do not recall ever hearing that. It is great. Thanks for posting. Little but my work at a certain type of grad school could catch my attention then, and in the little time I had for music then, I was listening only to the new stuff in Christian Music.
I found some other things.
Another 1980 version (at least the video), which I never heard as best as I recall:

2016 version by the original band, 36 years later, wow, live video, and it sounds better from them as old guys!

They right away reminded me, with their relentless beat, of Shocking Blue, who I also think was great. Low and behold, they are also a Dutch band! Shocking Blue HAD to have influenced them.
I LOVE this song! I have it on a CD in the car.
Great song I Love it. I have the album on vinyl, tried to get a couple of bands I was in to play it. Nobody wanted to. I wasn’t looking forward to it, that guitar intro is really TOUGH to play...IT would take me a week just to get the intro right. Forget about the lead, I’d improvise.
I need to get Flash updated, youtube won’t work right now...gotta go see if I downloaded this one a while back...
We left for Frisco in a Rambler...
I still remember most of the lyrics
love it...
My family had a Rambler station wagon in 1965.
