That’s how we picked our dog. She just went over to my husband and was really sweet with him.
She’s a little poodle mix, and she was so scrawny when we got her. Now shes really cute, and she’s been the sweetest dog. She was my first dog, and I love her.
Isn't that awesome? Our 5 children are all adults now. When the last one left she left me her dog. They had been really close but dtr was truly unable to take her. So I told everyone that the dog and I grew into crochety old women together.
We had to have her put down about 6 years ago. Took me another year to be ready to get another. When we were ready husband told me to go online, look at shelters and find a few dogs I liked and then we'd set and day to go choose one. I did as he suggested and one cold rainy November day we went.
The first shelter we visited tbere was a dog who came right to the fence to greet me first thing. She wasn't on my list. Husband is very organised. We looked at the 3 dogs on the "list" from that shelter and he fell in love with one of them. I was so sad and I asked to see the dog who greeted me anyway, messing up Mr. Husband-the-organized. We did not leave with a dog that day, we came home to discus which one we'd get. After 2 days I was very surprised when the lady from the shelter called to see if we'd made a decision and my sweet husband said we would take both. So we don't have the kids at home anymore but we have "his and hers" dogs :-)
