Also i just found this site and want to thank everuone who wanted to help before i wish we had kbown then. And theres so much that wad left out of his story.. thank u and god bless
I just did a copy/paste of the request. Teamtaylorodom2016 will you please post a direct link to the gofundme page.
So his initial injuries were caused by a more senior soldier hot-dogging a vehicle to scare the new recruits; what a tragedy, makes me wonder how many times this nonsense happens. It is not a new problem. When in Korea, I had a CH-47 pilot do the same thing to our squad during our training (have to be able to load / dismount squads from the bird and be ready to roll within some time limit). He turned the bird near sideways, then flew at treetops very fast; then he came down on a very low approach to the LZ like he was going to crash it. He hit a power line as he came through the treetops because he was too low to react, spun the bird and resulted in a “forced landing” in Army parlance. Although a lowly E-4 at the time, I took matters into my own hands. Two E-7s and the crew chief had to pull me off of him. We got tossed all over the crew compartment and some had minor injuries, but my only thought was to teach the jackass LT that was flying (weird, usually CWOs, but this was a 1LT) a valuable life lesson about risking soldiers lives. I knocked him out with the first punch, and got a few more shots in before I was pulled off; I got off with a verbal reprimand, in fact the E7’s shook my hand once we were away from the CO and top.
GOOD JOB! there are times your type actions are truly needed to teach life lessons.
I wore out a belt on the seat of 3 boys as they were growing up.
Thanks for the other link Theoria.
His body could be flown into the Millington, TN Naval Base via routine Military flights, and picked up by a Horn Lake, MS funeral home.
Thank you for your suggestions im not sure the military would get involved seeing he was in Oregon for personal business. I’ll suggest it to his mother. Taylor was a amazing young man. Very kind and loved by many Friends. My son grew up with him and were very close his death has left many hurt sadden and angry. This hero was almost killed by the very people he was supposed to rely on and i think more should have been done for him to ensure that he was ok.
I sent WREG a message about this as they ran the original story for the Memphis area. It in my mind still a Military issue if he was still under Military health care.
A funeral is not cheap, I’ve paid for 2. 1 for my 16 yr old murdered son, and one for my late husband who was USAF Nam ERA Vet who died of a sudden massive heart attack at 58.
Good morning.
I knew about your son from your posts, but didn’t know about your husband.
I’m sorry for your loss.
May the Lord bless you and keep you through all of your tragedies.

Im happy to announce that Taylors gofundme page raised the money and his funeral will be tuesday.
This was a post from his mother on fb......And the nitemare continues as PFC Taylor Odom gets retired from the Army with no pay or benefits put into place, unable to work d/t physical injuries and traumatic brain injury, no place to live, and now turned down for help by the Memphis VA after a suicide attempt this past Monday night, because the VA is too full....... A request for help was just emailed to congressman Steve Cohen, but he needs community support. Nature of Problem: My name is Jenniffer Palazola, and my son Taylor Odom is a 21yo wounded soldier that was just retired from the Army two months ago d/t a Humvee accident on Nov 7,2012 that left him with a TBI, and MANY other disabilities. Here is a couple of links that talk about the story. wreg.com/2012/11/.../horn-lake-soldier-injured-in-alleged-hazing-incident/ Exclusive: Injured Mississippi Soldier Finally Home for Christmas ... www.localmemphis.com/news/local/.../WJ9f3snHMkqSTgcWRr5yfw Dec 8, 2012 - Army Private Taylor Odom of Horn Lake, Mississippi was injured ... He suffered a traumatic brain injury during that training accident and at first ... What brings me to the current situation: He was released from the service and wrecked his car on the way home, ended up on the streets, I took him in and he tried to commit suicide this past Monday night. I took him to the VA Tues for help. I was assured he would be taken care of, and checked on daily and I would receive a call daily from his patient advocate, Arthur Johnson. He also assured me he would let me know of any changes. I went to check on him Wed, and walked the VA for 2 hours from dept to dept and no one could find him. I finally found someone who told me he was sent to Methodist because the VA didnt have room for him. Now Methodist is releasing him tom morning to the street? Nothing was resolved and NONE of my calls are being returned by the VA or Arthur Johnson from the VA. This is just the beginning of the hassle we are getting from the VA. Since this accident my family has been ripped apart. My husband walked out on me and my younger son, which caused our business to close. This past summer I lost my home and it put my youngest son and I on the street, homeless. He was taken from me and is now with his father. Taylor was released and I took him in, but I am not in the financial position to care for him, as his pay or benefits is not in place. We desperately need your help Mr. Cohen. I have heard good things about you. I pray you will help us asap. Thank you and God Bless.
Gail im so sorry for your loss of your son and husband I couldn’t imagine. Your doing a amazing job here thank you
If you are waiting on cohen the commie obama butt kisser to help, Hell will freeze over first. Taylor is not in his district and he is NOT the right color. Plus he is Military which cohen LOATHS like all dems do.
Apply under the Military Disability part as any injury incurred while in the Military that is permanent is a DISABILITY issue, VA care sucks other wise. There are local Veterans orgs that assist in that. Mon, Tue, Wed, Tipton CO. 901 476 2456 he can direct you to a more local one. Or might work with them.
Praise GOD. I’m sure re-posting the article and putting it on the Military thread helped. We take care of our own even when the gov’t won’t. Taylor is owed back pay I’d say. Have his mom Contact the number I gave you, and explain the situation to them. He should have been Disabled Discharged with Disability benefits.
