“I saw Angelina in the Tourist in 2010. She looked anorexic then. Hope she doesn’t end up like Karen Carpenter.”

I hope not, too.

My sister was anorexic/bulimic; it’s one way to deal with an incredible amount of stress.

Don’t. Just don’t.

I hear Karen’s voice come on radio and I about smash the thing. It was such a tragedy and makes me angry to this day.

I visited someone with anorexia in the hospital long ago. She was a hot mess, poor thing. Saw her years later; she looked better.

Eating disorders are a coping mechanism, and everyone has something with which to cope. We think that impossibly-rich celebrities have everything easy ... but somehow, very few of them are able to stop running, sit back, and enjoy lives of fabulous luxury. Something pushes them.

Also, women get a lot of praise for being thin, thinner, thinnest. We could be looking at Angelina Jolie and thinking she looks unwell, but the Daily Mail is saying “incredible figure” and “slender pins.”
