The best version of “Pretzel Logic” is Donald Fagen’s live “Rock & Soul Review” that featured Michael McDonald and the amazing Drew Zingg on lead guitar - easily the best lead guitarist that SD ever used.

Amazing creation in a 4 year period of 5 superb albums.

Yep, I just wished they played more of these during concerts. I’ve seen them each of the last 3 years in concert and their playlist is virtually the same.

As you probably know the name Steely Dan comes from a 19th. century sexual bondage device.
Apparently the Rooney family did not know this. They had named the Steelers’ cartoon mascot “Steely Dan”, until somebody pointed it out to them. He was quickly rechristened “Steely McBeam”.
Steely McBeam is LOATHED, HATED and DETESTED here on the Steelers’ home turf.
I have actually seen him booed at Church festivals!
Word on the street is that the NFL marketing gurus MADE the Rooneys do this.

Tying this all together....Steelers coach Mike Tomlin is a William and Mary alum.
Love me some Dan. This song is the best use of horns in a rock song, along with some Van Morrison and The Band.

This was their encore number at July’s concert in Mansfield MA.
It was masterful!
BOTH of my old schools are Senior Housing.
And, as a musician, I have performed at both of them. LOL!
