Stay away until you know what you are talking about. Every single recruit is subjected to abuse precisely because of who they are. Race, religion, state of origin, height, stupid looking face, big ears, funny name... you name it. Nobody escapes. That’s why a Marine rifle company is utterly ridiculous in its fighting capabilities. Don’t tamper with it moron-ette.

It’s never ok to abuse any recruit. My comment was in reference that recruits do stupid things and sometimes try to blame the drill instructor.

When I went to boot camp we didn’t have washers or dryers. We used a cement slab and a hand brush and hung our clothes out to dry.

One of my DI's did this same thing to one of my fellow maggots on the
Island in '84...his crime was that he was dumber than a mud fence and
needed some 'special training'. So nothing has changed in 32 years. To
paraphrase Gunny Hartman. "...[recruits] are all equally worthless" in a
Marine Drill Instructors eyes. They don't play favorites, un-favorites as it
were.
