I have always discussed politics at work, both in insurance and IT. Since being fired for supporting Goldwater, I have never been penalized for my opinions.
I’ve known many, many others fired for their politics. The most frequent situation is Democrats firing other Democrats over different sides in the primaries.
The second biggest reason is HR controlled by Diversity Nazis who want to teach a lesson to any manager who dares to hire a minority without going through their HR department. Kraft Foods, Allstate, Discover come to mind.
I hope that they do take action. Taking action works both ways.You got to bring ass to get ass. One of these days they are going to go too far and the law won’t be around to protect them. Then they will be on their own.Please, please, please, take action. It is my prayer.
