I see libs going (more) crazy saying that Trump told Stern he supported Bush on the war.

What is ground truth? As a conservative I was to know the facts.

A lot of private citizens (me included) were at first for the war, hoping it would be ‘finished’ this time, but then came out against it.

Simple. Trump says he was against the war.

THERE. Right from the horses mouth (and MIND)

Only Trump knows his own mind. If he says he was against the war, then he was against the war.

If he said otherwise in order to support the president or support our troops during wartime, that is totally understandable and not inconsistent with being against the war. In fact it would be admirable. (Ted Cruz take note)

Just ‘cause you heard it”

I was for it. Most of the people on FR at the time were for it. Most of the country t the time, Dems and GOP were for it.

When asked by Howard Stern he said, I guess so. Whoopdedoo.

I remember at the time being ticked off at him because he kept going around saying how it was a bad idea and that we should never have gone in. This, while troops were there and dying for the cause.

So I’m not going to believe anything Hillary claims until shown positive proof. Because the way I remember it, he was as much opposed to the war as Code Pink.

I know for sure that Hillary Clinton - who was a Senator from NY and Member of the Armed Services Committee supported it.

It shouldn’t matter, he was a private citizen with an opinion at the time. He didn’t vote on anything, his thoughts on the matter had no impact on anyone or anything. Hillary was a sitting US senator and a member of the Armed Services Committee, her opinion and therefore her vote helped put the war wheels in motion.

I really, really, intensely don’t care what Trump said or thought about invading Iraq in 2002 and anyone who wants to try and catch Trump in a lie over this is obviously for Clinton.

Go Trump!

Look up trumps exact quote for yourself
He said something very diffident about supporting the war and then added that we should have done it right the first time, ( desert storm which left saddam in power with his army)

which was probably the viewpoint of 90% of Americans of all parties

Once the invasion actually occurred and people got a better look at the real bush doctrine and the results- trump was among the first and most prominent to back away

If you have listened to Trumps experience, he was against it and then shared that he was contacted by the Bush admin.

Let be honest ...We supported the war... and I recall clearly Trump did not and was busting on Bush... and Trump was not popular here in FR at that time because of it

So it would be simple to go back through freerepublic at that time about Trump and find the posts...

Who cares? Private citizen Trump had no vote in the war either way. I don’t know what his personal opinion was on it... I don’t care.

No! He has in no position to vote for it, or “support” it.

OTOH Sen. Hillary voted for it.

I also recall Pres. Clinton wanting to attack Iraq earlier so he beat the drums of war, and sent Sandy Burger and Madeline Albright to Ohio State University. The anti-war students shouted them off the stage! War canceled. lol

It’s irrelevant as to what Trump’s thoughts were about the Iraq War. Hillary voted for it. Case closed. Perhaps the Progressive Left should be more worried about Hillary’s violations of National Security. BTW I agree with you.
