My dad was a WWII combat wounded paratrooper who
watched every war movie he could get his hands on and was
no fan of Skelton. Having had a rural, agricultural
history the old man had a particular problem with the
Clem Kadittlehopper character as played by Red. However,
pops was working late lots of times so the sisters would
team with mom and my brother and I would be SOL.

Fun to share these old family 60s stories!

My dad grew up on a farm, but had no problem w/Clem. Dad liked all Red’s characters and appreciated Red’s signature sign off:”Goodnight - and may God bless.” My Dad also enjoyed the “Real McCoys”, the “Guns Of Will Sonnet” (”No brag, just fact”), “Gunsmoke” and “Bonanza”. I liked most of ‘em, too.
