Message for Colin Kaepernick from someone who knows discrimination

My wife came here as in illegal alien, a status not well-liked to this day. I forced (yeah...forced) her to get residency a quick as possible and then citizenship, to learn English to fluency, to drive a 5-speed manual transmission vehicle and to show respect for MY culture, this country, our laws and yes, our national anthem. I didn't do it in a really nice way...I didn't give her a choice. The hardest part of all was making her learn to drive a standard.

She has come to love the country, where she lives and the people with whom she associates. She has truly assimilated into the culture LIKE SHE SHOULD HAVE. One of our sons serves in the military and is devoted to this country. One is married to an American woman and is getting along just fine. The third is studying to be in the medical field and is going gangbusters. My family is a part of the fabric of this country and we WILL show respect for the anthem, the flag and the people who live here, EVEN IF THEY ACT LIKE YOU DID.

You are listening and following leadership, who if they get their way will cause a civil war. What this administration has done is to DIVIDE the nation in to camps which now despise one another. There is no unity or singleness of mind. You want to get upset because some black man who committed a crime got shot? Anyone who commits a crime and points a gun at the police, or anyone else for that matter, should be shot. No apologies, ever. You go down to Mexico (or most anywhere in Latin America) and pull the stunt you did. You are too big of a COWARD to do so. You know that here the police and Federal authorities will protect you. Get down there as soon as possible and disrespect their anthem, their flag or their culture and you will have my full support.

You and all of the radical activists along with the muslims who hate us need to head for the exits. We are not going to tolerate your disrespect. What you and others of your ilk have in mind for us is a despotic rule where we would be your slaves and you can do to us whatever you please. I prefer death to your enslavement of my body and mind.

I've been thinking more about my "chameleon" label for people such as this creep and Obama. They get unfair breaks because they can claim minority status, yet they were brought up with all the advantages one can imagine. They do a lot of harm, because they don't get it that truly impoverished and disadvantaged people have to work for everything they have, and for many it's "one strike and your out". The message they and others send is what fuels the misplaced and manipulated hatred of BLM. The message is one of no personal responsibility. Instead of being role models anyone, they're poster children for a nation breathing its dying gasps of air.

Mr. Trump is the only political figure who has had the guts to tell it like it is. And the NFL? Are they playing the self-destruction game? They should INSIST that their players show respect for the nation that allows them to make millions of dollars playing a game.

I hope the 49s insist that this self-centered ungrateful creep play, every play. Perhaps the anger of other players, teammates and opposition, will be a motivating force that produces interesting results.
