Best thing Todd ever did was to produce XTC’s Skylarking.

Sorry “You Left Me Sore” 1972. The lyrics start out “love is infectious and I was a victim”.. :-)

Love the song, love the album, “Something Anything.”
The first time I heard this, I saw Todd perform this on the Midnight Special. The announcers made a point of saying that he was going to be performing to a backup track, since he was alone with a piano on stage. I remember thinking, wow, that’s one weird looking outfit he’s wearing, but the music really won me over.
An amazing performer, but IMHO, where he seems to have really shined commercially is as a producer. He took Hall & Oats and Grand Funk Railroad to superstar status. He was also the producer of an album you might have heard of, “Bat Out of Hell” by Meatloaf & Jim Steinman.
I also love all the incarnations of “Utopia!”

I believe that’s on “Somthing / Anything.”
Also “Black Maria” and “Piss Aaron!”

I saw Howie Mandell about 15-20 years ago, and I assure you it was worse. Not funny at all, made fun of us for buying tickets.
