Why the alt-right isn’t wrong (Clinton anti alt-right speech this Thurs)
The Spectator UK ^ | July 30, 2016 | James Delingpole

Posted on 08/24/2016 4:52:35 AM PDT by libertarian27

To help you understand what’s going on, I’d like you to cast your minds back to the Eighties and the era of ‘political correctness gone mad’. At the time, we thought it was so loopy it would disappear up its own bottom. Instead, it continued to get worse and worse, leading to lunacies like the nursery schools in Oxfordshire teaching kids to sing about ‘Baa Baa Rainbow Sheep’, and thence to nonsense like the ‘safe spaces’ promoted on university campuses for a generation of special snowflakes, as well as to vexatious campaigns like the one conducted at Oxford by anti-white race hustlers known as Rhodes Must Fall.

Yes, to some it might seem a joke but to the kids who have to live in this oppressive environment — as Brendan himself knows, having written about the Stepford Students in The Spectator — it’s horribly real. Young white straight males suffer especially: the moment they arrive on campus they are treated like potential rapists; in lectures they’re harangued by Marxist professors on their ‘white privilege’, as if all ills in the world from the abuse of women to racism are somehow their fault. And the conservatives who should have been fighting their corner just haven’t been up to the job because of the fatal weakness so many on the right have: a secret terror that they’re as nasty as the left claims they are.

For years, from America to Europe to Australia, on a whole range of social issues from the environment to gay marriage to multiculturalism, diversity and gender, mainstream conservatism has far too eagerly conceded territory to the progressive opposition in order to demonstrate its caring, fluffy side. Even when conservative administrations have been in office they have failed to arrest the leftwards drift of the culture.

Hillary will attack the ‘Alt-Right’ as a big tent where all of us that don’t want her or the establishment dwell.

She isn’t going to pinpoint attack the purist species definition of an Alt-Righter, we will all be tagged alt-right...the narrative is being changed.

Exactly correct. That’s why I am saying when Hillary gives her speech, the alt-right won’t deny, they will “agree and amplify.” Going to get interesting.

The traditional conservatives (TV, radio, etc) have NO IDEA what is going on anymore. They are dinosaurs.

You still don’t get it. To the alt-right, the coming Hillary speech is great news. They are promoting it, trying to make the hashtags trend on Twatter. To them it is earned media.

The only ones unhappy will be the (((neocons.)))

Lots of antisemitic comments on the Disqus thread there.

Antisemitic comments are designed to shut down the alt-right.

libertarian27 – are you saying they are all trolls / agitprop – people only “pretending” to be part of the alt-right in order to discredit the alt-right?

I really don’t think so. It is both naive and very dangerous to dismiss that there is a very vocal and growing segment of the “alt-right” who are anti-Semites and are sincerely Neo-Nazi’s - Storm Front types. Even Trump’s Twitter feed is infested with them and I don’t understand why he doesn’t block them.

And they are getting more vocal and open about it; some, it could appear even here.

Huck: Racialism is a fundamental part of the alt-right. Jews are begging for trouble, as usual. Sure, the left hates Jews. Who doesn’t? Meanwhile, take a look at the MSM, the Never-Trumpers, etc. Jews aplenty.

Huck – perhaps I am misunderstanding your posts, but perhaps you might clarify - are you for the alt-right’s anti-Semitism or against it or are you just ambivalent to it?

It is one thing to point out and stand up against anti-white racism, i.e. the BLM movement, Islamic extremism and “political correctness” the SJW’s, but those on the “alt-right” who veer into anti-Semitism and White Supremacy, those who’s social media and Twitter feeds praise Hitler and deny the Holocaust and blame every societal and political ill on “The Filthy Jews” - they should have no place in the Conservative movement (or IMO on FR) or in the “alt-right” unless that is really what the “alt-right” is about. And FWIW I don’t see many on the alt-right calling these neo-nazi types out. If that is the face of the “new” GOP or the new “conservative” movement, I want no part of it.

We need to call them out and rebuke them just as we should call it out the same on the left.

You do not get the alt right. They don't play the 'call out' game. Most of what you call antisemitism is the alt right responding to being called anti Semite. They are major trolls.

Very difficult to summarize. It appears it’s going to find the mainstream shortly, however.

Basically, radicalization. The left (SJWs) have become so completely oppressive and insane, and the hostility towards Whiteness and Maleness has grown so outrageous, it has spawned its reaction, which is a radicalized right-wing subculture. The Limbaughs and Levins of the world are utterly clueless and living in the past.

I think I understand the phenomena to which you are referring. I noted something similar with the influx of Muslim "refugees" into Europe. I predicted excessive tolerance will trigger a backlash of excessive intolerance. That Liberal Europeans, in an effort to be unlike the Nazis, were going to in effect, re-create the Nazis.

That they were creating the very thing they most dreaded.

The trouble with Liberals and Intellectuals is that they are too smart by half. They never seem able to predict the consequent backlash of what happens when their Utopian ideas are implemented.

While I do concur that there are anti-Semites that are right wingers (and moderates) we can't dismiss that there are even more on the left, and many of them infiltrate and agitate in the 'right' places on the net.

I've visited the 'Storm Front' messageboard site in the past, they are more 'left' than 'right'...they have more in common with Communists than anything on the right. It's like reading 'Alt-Democratic Underground' in there. Stormfront isn't alt-right. (Hillary and her people have/will say it is)

As to Trumps twitter being infested by Neo-Nazi's, I don't see replies on his feed (maybe it's on facebook?) but then again, how many are leftists posting to discredit the Trump campaign as a bunch of racists?

.....and Hillary has a alt-right speech on Thursday....

Left: You are racist!

Traditional Conservative: No I’m not! Thomas Sowell! Walter Williams! Clarence Thomas.

Left: You are racist!

Alt-right: Of course. So?

That has become the effect it has had on me. I no longer give a sh*t about being perceived as a racist.

You get a government and a dominant culture that frames everything in terms of race, and then you start to realize you are the focus of their hate, and so you get to a point where you will focus more on what you perceive to be the best course for your own tribe.

This has been the effect of Obama's governance.

What Liberals don't seem to grasp is that they are attacking the most viciously inventive and ruthless group of people that human history has ever known, and if they are successful in triggering a race war, it won't go so well for them as they seem to think it will.

As for Jews, it is my opinion that throughout history, they beg for trouble, and then they get it. Not every single Jew. But Jews. You have to admit the sustainability of anti-semitism is impressive. All delusion?

Thanks for letting me and all of FR know that you really are an anti-Semitic Jew hater and a racist. Do you use the same screen name over at Storm Front as you do here?

There was a time on FR when posts like yours would get a well-deserved zot.

Even Trump’s Twitter feed is infested with them and I don’t understand why he doesn’t block them.

I think this is because Trump has a New York Liberal Democrat's understanding of what the "right wing" looks like. He's been taught a caricature of the "right wing" his whole life, and now he's trying to ride them to the Presidency, and so he tolerates this sort of stuff because he doesn't want to offend what he *thinks* is his base.

There are other indications he has a warped view of the American right. One I noticed recently is that ball cap he always wears. I don't think that many people in the circles in which Trump runs around, usually wear ball caps. I believe he thinks ball caps appeals to the redneck/farmer joe-sixpack base, so he wears them.

Trump has been remaking himself for years (starting with support for us "birthers" some years ago) because he felt he could win the Presidency as a Republican, but not as a Democrat.

It is my opinion that Trumps behavior is the result of his ego. He wants to be President, and he is willing to make "deals" to get what he wants.

One of his "deals" is a temporary indulgence of racist kooks on his twitter feed because he doesn't want to piss off what he thinks a significant portion of the base is.

We need to call them out and rebuke them just as we should call it out the same on the left.

Yes, we should not tolerate any of that crap.

If a black man points out the chronic self-inflicted problems of his people, is he a racist? Or a realist?

When a black man sees yet another black mugshot in the news, and shakes his head, what should he do? Blame whitey?

See, that’s the problem with politically correct, sanitized thought and speech. You just can’t speak honestly without someone flipping out.

It’s OK. That was flippant of me. The alt-right was something that showed up on my radar a while back, and I’ve been observing it as a harbinger of things to come.

As old Clint said in ‘Fistful of Dollars’, “Sometimes a man’s life depends upon a mere scrap of information.”
