As retired military, I can tell you another reason it goes unreported/untreated. The powers that be would take away your gun rights for life!
Yup. The VA system says if you have PTSD or a head injury from service, you might be classified into the no buy list that the firearm purchase check is based on.
A lot of (liberal/democrat) people don’t think this is a big deal. After all, it’s just to buy a gun and that does not warrant declining treatment!
But to a soldier, sailor, airman or marine guns—weapons—are a way of life and the fact that your government service can result in taking them from you for nothing you did except survive is a travesty of justice.
I thought our medical records are confidential. So much for that theory if they can do this.
That’s horrific!
I didn’t get mine as a result of combat, but I was in ICU and it was a bad one.
NEVER once did it give me homicidal thoughts!!
And if it did give suicidal or homicidal thoughts, there were 200 other ways to commit those acts without a gun anyway!!
It’s just GUN GRABBING!!!! The final insult to a wounded soldier.
Makes me sick. Shooting is probably one of the best therapies for some of these guys if that’s what they love
