^^OME time ago we conducted a prize contest to k-' which users of Ivory Soap contributed about 50,000 recipes. These recipes tell bow to use Ivory Soap, either by itself or with other materials, for things rarely attempted with soap.

From these recipes we have selected more than one hundred which are exceptionally helpful and, in many cases, most unusual. We have tested each one and proven that all accomplish the desired results with complete satisfaction.

The reason is. Ivory Soap contains nothing harmful — no free alkali, no harsh materials of any kind. It is just mild, pure, biodegradable soap — nothing else. Therefore, it can be used safely and success- fully where ordinary alkaline soaps would be disastrous.

Of course, in the usual cases it is well to know to be the best way to proceed to secure the best results. In this connection, the following recipes should give you some valuable information. But please remember that if, at any time, you have a cleaning problem not covered by printed instruction, all that is necessary is to use Ivory Soap and common sense.

He still has his moments. From the later movies I really liked Sweet & Lowdown, Curse of the Jade Scorpion, and Whatever Works was great just because of the pairing of Larry David and Woody Allen. That’s like a neurotic New Yorker jewpocalypse right there!

But yeah, he doesn’t have any inhibitions about mining his personal issues for material and putting it on the screen. I guess that was always his schtick, but when he was younger, at least he had a wide range of problems to make movies about so it didn’t get boring. Now it seems like he is stuck in a loop, compulsively rehashing the same story about an older man who jeopardizes everything in his life by chasing younger women. I think he’s better off just not casting himself to play the lead. If it’s Owen Wilson chasing the girl, you can pretend it’s a regular love story and the creep factor goes away, but every time Woody plays the part it’s unavoidable.

In Jade Scorpion it was an unrealistic love affair because of the ages.

and he started taking himself seriously along the way.

hannah and her sisters was good, when his mother runs into the other room crying because he wants to become a catholic lol

One use not mentioned is for trotline bait for catfish. (Actually, pink "Zote" soap probably works better, ; lasts longer, and sinks easier...) Both soaps are successful baits for smaller, "eatin' size" catfish...

Didn’t Dillinger carve a handgun out of soap to escape once?

Dillinger carved his fake gun out of wood, in the process making a laughing stock of Lake County, Indiana.

I used it for decades for acne.

You had acne for decades? I think mine completely ended at age 19 or 20.

I paid a quarter for this Fels Naptha soap grater at a tag sale last week. I don't know why I bought it...I like vintage kitchen stuff. I think my mother had one like it for pre-treating laundry stains..

Well, I guess if you rubbed your shirt or pants against that thing, it WOULD take the stain out ...

Which reminds me that Ivory Soap makes an excellent (grated) cheese substitute over a plate of spaghetti. :)

It's probably worth a lot more than a quarter. See if you can have it appraised. At least check it out online.
