As I racked my brain, I seemed to think of a lot of songs from 1969 and 1971. Although I might have a different favorite tomorrow, today I'd say The Beatles Get Back.

You wrote a heck of a lot more than one word.

My enthusiasm and exuberance for my favorite band and their popular hits of the late 60s, 70s and 80s, blinded me to the fact that the poster was only asking for our favorite song of 1970 and not the 70's. Oops, my bad!

But whose counting anyway? Enjoy the tunes at the links. Brings back so many good memories for me.

I've run into several people around my small town in rural Florida who have seen them in concert as recently as this last spring and they say they still rock in concert. I can't wait!

Dennis Wilson of the Beach Boys released one of his most hauntingly beautiful solo tracks "Fallin' in Love" (aka "Lady") as a single in 1970. Listen here.

My fav Hendrix song is All Along the Watchtower-MrT5 told me soon after we married that he wanted it and the Stones Gimme Shelter played at his funeral-years later, after his untimely death, I told the funeral director we would be doing that-I thought his head was going to explode-I guess he’d figured it would be just another Catholic funeral for a military guy. The guests and family thought it was cool, so we did it...

“Crazy On You This song is by Heart and appears… on the album Dreamboat Annie (1976)”

I own the LP and the CD versions of that concert, It’s got its own unique vibe, but I still think the Band of Gypsies album is far superior. Isle of Wight was more of a standard, knock-out, Hendrix performance.

I’m biased, though. I love everything by Jimi.

Yes, the year presented us a great many Good Songs. The Carpenters, Tom Jones, Anne Murry, Simon and Garfunkel- Bridge over Troubled Water, Jackson 5.

This period was the beginning of the end for top 40 tunes, the era of be bop, rock and roll. 10 short years later it was Rap, and AWFUL. Music, like society, disintegrated into the pits.

For the music of ‘my time’ I enjoyed this one from Gene Chandler

I’ve always understood Layla to have been the wife of George Harrison (Patti something) that Clapton fell head over for.

Heart was 90s, not 70s.

Heart started in 1967 and was going strong in the 70s.
