“Long and Winding Woad.”

‘Long and Winding Road’ was good, too.

Wow, I happen to have a Carpenters remembrance on my local PBS station at this moment.

Karen had one amazing voice. Too bad she left us too soon.

Jimi Hendrix - Band of Gypsies. The whole album. Best live rock guitar album of all time.

A couple by the incomparable Carpenters; but the one I am continually drawn to from that year is
“Yellow River”, by Christie

It’s mostly the Tremeloes; but the songwriter, Christie, gets the single.

Bobby Sherman.

I understand he’s a good man, but him and David Jones and David Cassidy sure made it tough on the rest of us guys.

1970 or the 1970s?

Bridge Over Troubled Waters spent many weeks as #1 in 1970.

You Light Up My Life might have been the biggest hit of the decade.

Oh just 1970; not the 70s, just one year. Oops...never mind. Let it Be?

Tough call...probably Layla. Clapton and Allman together is magical.

Lot of good songs in 1970.

I know that every generation’s coming of age era, produces the best songs, for that generation.

But dang, all these are great songs. I watch the Grammys every year, and what is being produced just does not compare.

I know the business model is so different, but great music will always find a way, outside of business incentives.

Watched a Chicago concert on AXS last night and they interview Lamm, and he said the band never tires of playing the same stuff. He equates the experience of connecting with an audience as spiritual.
