“I have friends who refuse to believe dogs may go to Heaven but they certainly deserve it more than most people...”

Will Rogers said it best:

“If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went.”

I have a relative whose life and that of her husband was saved from fire i their apartment complex by their dog waking them - fortunately in this case, the dog was saved too. But we’ve never forgotten.

It is my belief that no love is ever wasted. These precious beings WERE placed here by God and they DO serve as an example of total unconditional love.

God bless this little family in the loss of their valiant pet.

I saw this story yesterday. The one thing that puzzles me is how the fire started so quickly. The lady walked to her car, and turned back to see the house engulfed by flames. Weird.

What puzzles me is how does a dog know what to do to save a life? Does he understand self-sacrifice ?

I hope he was able to save the life of that young girl. I understand she is still in intensive care.

The dog’s name was Polo who will always be cherished and remembered.

I noticed your tagline quote on political correctness. My favorite has always been by Jazques Barzun -”Political correctness does not legislate tolerance. It only organizes hatred.”

Another link to the Polo story with touching pictures

One of my favorite Twilight Zone episodes is "The Hunt" where the old hunter & his hunting dog Rip drown & head down the path called eternity row. The first gate he comes to wouldn't let the dog in so he continues down the road until he finally reaches Heaven's gate which allows him in with Rip.

A favorite line : "..a man well he'll walk right into Hell with both eyes open, but even the devil can't fool a dog..."

I burst into tears upon reading the story a couple of days ago. I just hope Polo did not suffer. May he rest in peace in doggie heaven.
