A Minneapolis man punched his 4-month-old daughter 22 times in the face and chest to stop her “baby talk,” ultimately killing the infant, police said.
Cory Morris, 21, is charged with second-degree murder in the Aug. 13 incident, FOX9 reported. He allegedly admitted to first responders at the crime scene that he was responsible for the deadly attack.

Thanks for your reply. That is what we have seen when these horrible crimes happen. Race seems to have minimal bearing. The so called husband is not the father of the child.
He looks like he has a thyroid dysplasia which may make him hyper and perhaps even violent.
Why only 2nd degree murder?

It could have been a psychological snap/episode then goes in the house, the baby was making baby talk. She kept interrupting him, so he hit her. Correction, beat her to death.
I live in the Mpls metro area. Unlike CNN we hear a bit more than what is reported on the national wires

This just irks me to no end .. these women go off and leave their baby in the care of someone who is unhappy with the job.

This guy deserves the death penalty, without a doubt. Even if he is insane.
The insanity defense is the most profound insult to the 99.999% of people with mental issues who never kill or hurt anyone.
I believe that drug use should also be prohibited from using that as a defense, which is probably the case for the female who chose this piece of absolute useless crap with whom to reproduce.
Actually, this piece of useless crap might qualify for the underrated "double death penalty..."
That sounds pretty bad. Today we have more capabilities. I read a few installments of a series of novels last year - can’t remember the author’s name. Anyhow, a couple of the malefactors were worked on such that certain mutilations left them: paralyzed; blind; deaf; IIRC, tongue cut out; and with permanent vertigo. The only sense remaining intact was smell. Helluva way to go through life.
Words fail me here... Because at least half of them would get me banned from this site.
To be kept in a cell to relive this horror for the rest of his life would be worse than death in this case. IMO
