I think we averaged about 1 crop every 5 years way back when we lived in a trailer park that had a peach tree on the space we rented-due to spring frosts.

The only names I recognize in what you wrote are DOS, Window, and Linux. Have zero experience with Linux, but at least I have heard of it.

My first PC for the home was a Tandy from Radio Shack. At work we had DOS and Lotus 123. All the computers at work were in a central location on our floor, and the Computer Techs took care of everything.

We just left our desk and went to an available computer in that room, brought up our spreadsheet etc. saved our updates to a floppy disk which we took back to our desk, after we printed out a report, if we needed hard copy.

Once a week the techs backed up all the data and stored it in a fireproof safe. Once a month the techs saved everything and sent it to 2 other remote locations in other states, where it could be operational within a few hours.

Since we always had computer techs on hand, I just never learned much about computers, other than using those programs and muddling through at home.

I have started using Modzilla Firefox for most things now, since internet explorer is just not working very well.

A strange thing to me, is that I have an icon for amazon.com at the bottom of my screen, and it will load faster, and better than either the internet explorer or modzilla. So sometimes, I just bring up Amazon.com by clicking that, and then change the internet address.

It’s weird to me.

Just got a little rain today, but now it is hot and sticky again.

On Sunday, Hubby said our weekend rain had filled an empty coffee can. I’ve no idea how much we have had, but the rain barrels are all overflowing and it rained again Monday and Monday night. Flash Flood warnings here and all surrounding counties.

Thanks for the pics. People around here have had lousy tomato crops this year.

Wow beautiful pics as usual. Gorgeous apple pie. I’ll have to try the drizzle icing next time I make one. Have ever seen a crossbill either.

Great pictures! You’ve been busy. The only thing better than harvesting and canning is looking at pictures of harvesting and canning.

Hi all, we have had a few heat waves in west Michigan this summer. It will be in the 80’s this week thankfully, and we had 2 1/2 inches of rain the last 2 days. Just got done picking secondary broccoli, green beans, cukes, tomatoes and banana peppers. I have to be careful walking in the garden as I am still in PT once a week from my knee replacement. Green beans are about 2 weeks later than usual but I was late on being able to plant.I had some volunteer vines come up from compost seeds and let them go just because I could not weed as much. Looks like there are more than a few watermelons and a beautiful striped cantelope. Had one zucchini that got a little big for my taste so I took it down to the neighors - 7 kids. She will chop it up and make it into something wonderful. As always I love reading all the posts and seeing the pictures.

Tomatoes like water, but they don’t like too much water, and there has been way too much water around here this summer.

Sounds like you have some type of mallard redirecting your browser. Windows is plagued with that. It is all about money paid for clicks on ads.

I have used Mozilla a very long time. I do like some of the plug-ins for it. Mozilla sold out for money. I have heard that they now realize they were on the wrong side of the “net neutrality” thing. I’m on my smart phone, am out of state for a few days with our daughter & grandson.
