A high pressure system sitting in the eastern Atlantic has caused one of the coldest nights in recent history, driving temperatures down to just above zero on Wednesday night, the German Weather Service (DWD) reports.
In Carlsfeld, Saxony, the mercury dropped to 1.3°C (34.3°F), thereby setting a record for the coldest August temperature ever recorded in the town since first being measured in 1990.
Meanwhile, in Bad Königshofen in Bavaria, a temperature of 1.5°C (34.7°F) was also just one decimal place above a record set in 1987.
In several mountainous regions of the country, frost also covered the grass on Thursday morning.
The chilly front couldnt be in greater contrast to the same time last August, when Germany was sweating through the second hottest summer since records began.

It must be a typo.
That means that the climate is changing, right? So it’s Climate Change—duh. The heat must have been moved to some country in the Third World. Time for climate justice now!
Third World? Don’t you mean “developing nations”? The UN changed the terminology to that and “developed nations” when they started putting out the subtle propaganda to the effect that the First World was taken over by the Second World. (FTR, Red China is still a “developing nation” per UN parlance.)
I saw a post by Joe Bastardi yesterday about his long range winter forecast. Cold. Cold. Cold. Think of the winter of 1976...that's one of the years he's comparing it to.
I’m humbled and shamed. I promise to do better.
The UN and their Newspeak. They don’t even get an A for effort.
I thought this was the hottest year in 20 billion years?
At some point about a month ago...I looked at German weather forecasts.
I live in the central Germany region....near the Rhine.
The temperature for an entire weekend along the northern-third of Germany was to be a day-time high of 18-C....which is fairly chilly for July. The temperature for the bottom third of Germany was to be near 28-C (which is fairly warm for Bavaria).
Now, a global warming nutcase would jump on this quickly and talk up the cooling problem and the warming problem. But then....you sit there and gaze at the front displayed on the screen. There is simply a weather pattern which came out of the Iceland-Scotland region....moved across northern Germany and gave these low temperatures some ‘concrete’. While from north Africa came some warm front which came across Bavaria and headed into Poland. Two separate fronts....across the same country....but it doesn’t really mean anything except there were two fronts on this weekend.
I’ve spent this entire summer watching weather patterns across Germany. There are probably twenty significant fronts which came out of Iceland and headed in this direction. Normally...you might get a quarter of these number....at best. Added to this...we’ve had the most rainfall in my region for any single year....of the past twenty years. Some farmers will say it was actually too much rain.
92 degrees with high humidity today in SW Pennsylvania. Hot!
developed nations is showing your western privilege and is a colonialist standard that fails to acknowledge that not all nations need to go down the white path in order to be developed! AND YOU FAIL TO ACKNOWLEDGE SYSTEMS OF OPPRESSION IN VARIOUS WESTERN PLUTOCRACIES THAT ARE DESIGNED TO KEEP NATIONS OF PoC IN PERPETUAL SUBSERVIENCE!
CHECK YOUR PRIVILEGE!!!!!!
In 1876, the campaign against Crazy Horse, Burke records a heavy frost one morning, and two days later it was 102 degrees.
I’m only using what the UN gives me. They gotta have globalist privilege.
Question: Does Algore have a Climate Change Conference scheduled for August in Germany?
In other news, august in germany was proclaimed the hottest ever
When I was station there in the ‘80’s, I slept in once and missed summer.
All “global warming” is local.
