As President Josiah Bartlet, in the series “West Wing”, He portrayed all the finest instincts of a good and just Democrat.
Except that was pure fiction, no more realistic than the series “Scandal”, which is perhaps a sensationalization of what may have been loosely based on very real events.
The narrative in both series was that the Republicans were and are pure evil and existed only for the “good guys” to bring them down.
Which is probably the only way some people can picture the Universe. Pure prejudice, if you ask me.
